■The life of the salt resistant filter |
The life of the salt resistant filter is generally considered from a half year to one year.
(The life above mentioned is just a indication and will depend upon the condition of the place installed.)
The following factors will influence the life of the filter.
1. |
The increase of pressure drop through the filter will depend upon accumulation of air dusts and seawater salt particle. ( The color and the deformation of the filter will change as mentioned above.) |
2. |
The performance of the filter will be decreased by the accumulation of air dusts. It will show the abnormal increase of pressure drop and make re-diffusion of seawater salt particles to the inlet. |

The deterioration of the filter will be made by the surroundings. (The long term usage and the chemical reaction with the exhaust gas will influence the characteristics of the filter. )
In order to have good performance of the salt resistance filter, maintain the surrounding of the facility ,where the salt resistant filter will be installed, better and also to lighten the burden of the filter system and run the system economically, the filter had better be replace with the new one periodically. |

The seawater salt particles along the beach are two peaks for their particle distribution such as less than 1.0 μm and near 5 μm and as about 70% of the particle are included in the particle size between 2.0 μm to 7.0 μm, it can be captured easily.
The material of the filter has the two layers such as the salt absorption layer (Second layer) and the water repellent layer ( Third layer ) and those are combined to make good performance of the filter by varying the ratio of each layers.)
Therefore at the time when the deliquescence of seawater salt particles attached to the filter under high temperature and humidity condition the salt in the liquid state will not spread out at the surface of third layer such as water repellent layer and it will come to liquid drops. And then the pressure drop of the filter can be suppressed. As at the same time the seawater salt particles will be absorbed to the second layer rapidly and maintained, the salt particles cannot be re-dispersed to the inlet direction.And the pressure drop can be suppressed by the special structure of the second layer of the filter. |
